The ever amazing William Carlton snagged another first place win at Dallas Dance, one of the largest West Coast Swing events in the nation. This particular competition was an All Star Jack & Jill, an event where random partners are given random music to compete spotlight (the only ones on the floor) for the big prize.
Just the previous night during the Saturday night ceremonies, Mr. Carlton was also inducted into the Dallas Dance Hall of Fame. This honor is held by only 25 people in the world including many world champions.

A bunch of awesome dancers from Wichita who have only come to the Intermediate class for two weeks are already looking awesome! The instructor is Will Carlton.
Join us for a field trip to Oklahoma City for a studio dance featuring Stevie Blakely! Several of us will be leaving town somewhere between 4 and 5 PM, arrive to dance around 8 PM, and return to Wichita at 2 AM. This is a great opportunity to meet the huge West Coast Swing crowd in Oklahoma without spending a bunch of money on gas.
The dance is $5 for the night, and gas is $50 split amongst the participants. So far I think we have at least three people going!

Tonight the lovely Tiana Kuntz participated in a ProAm Strictly Swing with Will Carlton. This is a dance where an amateur chooses a professional to dance with, goes out on the floor, and must improvise to one slow and one fast song without knowing the music head of time. Nonetheless, Tiana had no problem wowing the crowd with her booty shaking skills. It was no surprise to us that she took FIRST PLACE in the division she competed in! Way to go, Tiana!
